This wall had 2 layers (double skin) to aid strength and stability and footings that were 1 meter deep and wide. Nearly enough for a house!   The new walling to the left of the picture was added on top of an exisisting wall, the dividing line between new and old can be clearly seen. The wall to the right was built from scratch and extends to the right out of shot.( The rest of this picture and wall can be seen on the decking page). This was constructed to hold back the bank but also had a rill on the top to act as a waterfall over the wall into a pond at the bottom which then flowed into a stream running through the garden. ~ Building services Wiltshire ~ Builders Wiltshire ~ Fencing Wiltshire ~
